[ Kibana 5 ] Visualize/Dashboard

Adding Visualize

  1. Click Visualize
  2. Choose Basic Charts > Area

3. Select Index

4. Choose Bucket Type i.e. X-Axis

5. Choose Aggregation i.e. “Date Histogram”, then click “Apply Changes”

way1 : Using Sub-buckets 

  • choose Sub-buckets > Split Series : single chart that displays the various tags

set sub aggregation : “Terms

set Field : “tag”

Then click “Apply Changes”

  • choose Sub-buckets > Split Chart : multiple charts one for each tag

We need to always specify the Sub Aggregation for the Split Chart.

NOTE : In Kibana3, we need to create 2 seperate chart.

but In Kibana5, we can get the same result with only 1 visualization. However, if we use 1 visualization the y-axis will not appropriately seperately scale.

Save Visualization

Create New Dashboard

Use `Add` button to toggle the `Add dashboard` menu.

The dashboard component could be ​`​resized` by using drag-and-drop.

Using Filter 

The filter bar above can also be used. i.e. app:whatever

Siren

for the purposes of Siren, just charts need to be created in Kibana5 not entire dashboards.
