[ python ] importlib.import_module v.s. sys.modules

mod = sys.modules.get(module_name)

if not mod :

mod = importlib.import_module(module_name)

func= getattr(mod, function_name)

x = func(whatever_params)

 

sys.modules

The sys.modules attribute returns list of all the modules that **have been imported** so far in your environment.

importlib.import_module

We can import in absolute or relative terms.

Example : the module name can be ‘pkg.subpkg..mod’
